Panic Disorder

Panic disorder is characterised by recurrent and unexpected panic attacks—sudden surges of intense fear or discomfort that reach a peak within minutes.

Symptoms can include rapid heartbeat, shortness of breath, sweating, trembling, dizziness, chest tightness, and an overwhelming sense of dread. These episodes can feel frightening and unpredictable, often leading to fear of future attacks.

Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy (CBH) helps to manage panic by teaching effective breathing and relaxation techniques, reducing physical symptoms of hyperventilation, and reshaping negative thought patterns that fuel anxiety. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) supports individuals in reducing the struggle with anxious thoughts and sensations, instead focusing on building psychological flexibility and acting in line with personal values.

This integrated approach aims to:

  • Reduce the frequency and intensity of panic attacks

  • Develop practical tools for calming the body and mind

  • Transform unhelpful thought and behaviour cycles

  • Build confidence in navigating daily life without avoidance
